Hi! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Caitlyn (you can call me Caity) and I am a cat mom to two adorable fur babies, Luna and Hazel. My journey of cat parenthood began when I adopted my girl Luna, the sweetest gray tabby, in 2019 when she was just 2 months old. Shortly after I brought her home, I started to notice she always seemed to be fighting off what I thought was just a kitty-cold. It turned out she had Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), which she was diagnosed with when she was only 5 months old. I was told she would not make it more than a few more weeks. Fortunately, a cure for this fatal disease was just starting to surface, which I was thankfully able to acquire, and my baby survived. She’s now my little FIP warrior, and my bond with her is so strong.
My other baby Hazel, a spunky little American Bobtail, was added to the family in 2024. While it was a bit challenging (to put it lightly) introducing her to Luna and adjusting to a multi-cat household, Luna and Hazel are best buds now, and our house is filled with so many more purrs and snuggles.
I am fortunate enough to have the flexibility to work from home, which has been life-changing for me and my kitty cats. Being out of the house for most of the day all week just wasn’t allowing me enough time with my babies.
My kitties are my life, and if you’re here I’m guessing you feel the same way about your cuddly little babes, or maybe just kitties in general. Over the years, I’ve learned a LOT – almost too much – about cats, having dealt with the entire alphabet of issues, and I am eager to share advice on working from home with your cats, cat wellness, companionship, play, cuddles, and everything in between. I’m so glad you’re here, and I can’t wait to share my journey of kitty parenthood with you!
What’s behind the name?
You might be wondering…well, why ‘Caitycat’?
It’s actually kind of a funny story. My very first email account was caitycat, which was created when I was 11 years old. This email was used all the way up until I started applying for my first professional position after college. I thought there was no way caitycat was professional enough for a ‘big girl’ job. So, caitycat was never to be heard from again. Until…
When I decided I wanted to start a blog about cats, it only made sense to bring caitycat back to life. 🙂
